Thank you to parents and carers for such positive feedback.
256 parents and carers were surveyed in October at the Tutor Target Setting Evening using our questionnaire. The questionnaire not only asks the questions that we want answers to, but it also asks those set by Ofsted.
The overwhelming shift for us in these responses is the marked increase in the ‘Strongly Agree’ category. It would appear that the changes the college has made over the last year have pleased the vast majority of our families.
We take great notice of those views which are not so positive and we try to respond individually where possible to each of the comments suggesting improvement. These comments are usually resolved on the telephone or through face to face meetings when we endeavour to improve what we do as a result of your feedback.
- 98% of Year 10 and 93% of Year 11 parents said their child was happy at the college.
- 95% of Year 10 and 97% of Year 11 parents also said that their child felt safe at the college.
- 92% of Year 10 (7% don’t know) and 95% of Year 11 (4% don’t know) parents said that their child was well looked after at the college.
- 89% of Year 10 and 86% of Year 11 parents said they were well informed about their child’s progress.
- 91% of Year 10 (7% don’t know) and 89% of Year 11 (5% don’t know) parents said that their child was taught well.
Many of these statistics fall into Ofsted’s good and outstanding ratings although we are not satisfied that parents do not feel well enough informed about progress. As a result of this we have changed our practice:
- The October Parent Evening has been developed into a ‘Target Setting’ event during which the tutor, student and family sit down to agree targets and look at progress.
- Instead of a report once a term parents and carers will receive a report every half term.
- Parents can have access to our online reporting which gives them day to day access to achievement, behaviour, rewards and attendance data.
There were many specific queries regarding individual student issues which have been resolved by various members of the senior team. If you would like to receive via email a full copy of the summary results please contact: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Please do not hesitate to contact the college if you have concerns over any matter regarding the quality of provision that your child receives.
