Hot on the heels of the 21st consecutive Christmas Show, comes the 21st Groby College Performing Arts Festival; five nights of completely different performances starting on Monday 4th February 2013 and running through to Friday 8th. Start time of 7.30pm for all nights apart from Tuesday night which starts at 7pm.
The Festival has always been a massive event in the college calendar and often provides students with a first opportunity to perform in an event with other performers of all ages. Click here to view images from last years festival and see whos performing this year!
The Performance Nights are themed to give audiences a different experience every evening of the week:
- Monday is Variety Night – This year with a Musical Theatre theme featuring the Year 13 BTEC Dance Performance Showcase along with a host of Musical Theatre songs.
- Tuesday is Bosgro Night – Featuring 20 minutes of performance from all the schools in the Bosgro family of schools. Particularly featuring some of our younger students, this has proved to be a fabulous evening showcasing the talents of not just Groby students but the wider local community.
- Wednesday is Classical/Acoustic Night – With pure musical talent and possibly a sprinkle of dance and drama to cap things off.
- Thursday is Guest Night – With some of the best of current Groby talent along with former students and other guests.
- Friday is Band Night – Groby has a fine tradition of producing some excellent bands, many of whom continue to perform in one guise or another long after they have left college and this is a chance for the current crop to show their talents.
