Sports Presentation Evening was held in the Sports Hall on 28th June 2013 to celebrate the sporting success that Groby students have achieved throughout this academic year.

Jimmy Wallhead, an ex-student and professional MMA fighter, presented the awards and gave an inspiring speech on how sport can change lives, as well as giving some tips on how to make it to the top of your sport.

Martyn Thompson and Diane Hodgess presented the’ Daryl Rimington Commemorative Award’ and the ‘John Hodgess Sporting Achievement Trophy’, respectively, in memory of former students.

All students were given a certificate and medal to recognise the contribution that they have made to extra-curricular sport at Groby and the hours of training that they put in outside of school.

Thank you to all students and parents who attended – I hope you enjoyed the evening.
