The annual Groby Big Summer Games took place on 25th June 2013, the first under the current House system.
All students took part in House activities in the morning, attempting to earn points for Bardon, Beacon, Birch or Broombriggs. Students could either represent their House in the team events; rounders, football or volleyball, or take part in challenge events; welly wanging, boules, basketball free throw, golf chipping, penalty shootout, cricket bowling or zumba.
Traditional athletics dominated the afternoon’s activities, with both track and field events. All students participated throughout the day and enjoyed themselves, while the glorious weather contributed to a fantastic day. Birch House were the overall winners, but a special mention must go to Georgia Powers BECW, who took part in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 4x100m relay for Beacon House.
