Exam Time

Our students are getting ready to start the very busy time of preparing for their exams.  We aim to give as much advice as possible to support students, along with parents and carers over the coming months.  It is a tense time for all parties (especially the students!) as the build up to the exams begins.  For many, the next few weeks are about completing assignments and ensuring that controlled assessments are completed.  At this point, many parents seem to feel disconnected from the process as the students have to take full responsibility for their exams.  In order to bridge that gap, on Tuesday 9 April we are running our exam support evening, where parents and carers of students in year 11 can get all of the advice they need on how to support their son or daughter.

Exams are just part of this busy but very short Spring term.  We have already had two major trips abroad in the form of the annual ski trip to the USA and the first trip to Germany led by Miss Hammond.  Both trips have been a wonderful success and the students have been true ambassadors for their families and the colleges (the ski trip was joint with Guthlaxton). Thank you and well done to all of the students who have been on the visits this term.

The Performing Arts Faculty have once again triumphed with a week-long festival of acting, comedy, singing and dancing just prior to February half term. The 5 night programme involving students both past and present, as well as acts from other local schools, was again a great success.  My thanks always go out to the staff and students who mount these events as they show the sheer volume of talent in the college.

It just leaves me to say thank you for your continued support and to wish the students the best of luck with the start of their revision programme over the Easter holidays!!
