Well done A Level Students

Friday 16 August 2013

It was such a fantastic day yesterday to see our Year 13 students receive their A Level results and to hear that so many of them had secured a place at university. It was also great to see those who had already started work, being allowed to be late for a couple of hours to collect their results!

A Level results are in many ways more pivotal than university degrees. Without the hard work at A Level, a student can't secure access to the higher education, training or employment which will set their life off in the direction that they want. A Level outcomes are also a reflection of the work of the students. All of the grades seen at the college yesterday have been secured as a result of the work ethic that the students have when preparing for the course and the exams.

We also celebrate the Year 12 students who have achieved their targets and begin a period of support for those students who now realise what they need to do to get the grades they need for the next stage of their life. Hidden amongst the outstanding outcomes from Year 13 were also some Year 10, 11 and 12 students who completed A Levels or modules with very high grades.

I would also like to thank the staff and parents / carers who have made these results possible. Without the tireless dedication from staff and parents the students would not have been celebrating the outstanding outcomes that have been achieved in 2013.

For more exam details then please see our news section. A gallery of photographs from the AS and A2 results day can be seen in our gallery or on the Groby Community College Facebook page.
