Highest A Levels Results in Leicestershire

Welcome to the start of the new term. As you will be aware, we are celebrating some really good GCSE and A Level results. We have had confirmed this morning that our percentage of A* - A and A*-B at A Level is the highest across Leicestershire. I would like to say another well done to our outgoing Year 13 students and thank you to staff and parents / carers for their hard work and support.

It has been a busy start to the new academic year with nearly 300 Year 10 students making a good transition to life at the college. We have also inducted over 180 Year 12 students onto A Level courses. If you have any questions or concerns as a parent of a Year 12 student then please contact Michelle Wood (Head of Post 16) for help and support. I would formally like to welcome all new students and wish them the best of luck for the future.

In order to support our goal of being an outstanding community school, I have asked all Year 10 and 11 students to ensure that they respect the local area at lunchtime by remaining in full uniform at all times. This means keeping their tie on and their shirt tucked in throughout the college day, whether in school or around the village. I hope that you will support the college with this request as our students are ambassadors and therefore must present a positive and businesslike image at all times.

As a college we are busy preparing for the Year 11 Maths exam taking place on 6 and 8 November. Almost all of Year 11 will be sitting their Maths GCSE and we wish them the best of luck. If you have a child in Year 11 please encourage them to be revising and working through the past papers. There is lots of support and useful websites on the faculty pages which you can find through the links on this site.

Finally, if you have a child coming to college next year (September 2014) then please remember to visit us on 3 October at 6pm for our annual Open Evening. If you are from an in-catchment feeder school (Brookvale High School or South Charnwood High School) you will be guaranteed a place at the college for September. For help with your application then please contact Mrs Debbie Lee at the college (This email address is being protected from spambots.
