The exam season is now fully underway and we are working towards the final GCSEs in Science and Maths over the next week, as well as all of the A2 exams. Good luck to all students.

Thank you to all of the students, parents and carers who are ensuring attendance to the final lessons before the exams.  There is data to prove that when a student attends the vital final lessons  before an exam they achieve the very best grades.  Thank you also to all the staff and students who attended the half term revision sessions. The classes were extremely well attended  and a testament to the hard work that the students are putting in to secure their future.

The last half term of the year is always a busy one. Apart from the final exams and revision sessions, there is a lot to be done before the summer break begins. The annual Vision Show begins next week which provides a magnificent showcase of the effort  that goes into the Art and Design work from across Years 11, 12 and 13.  The Vision Show is one of the finest to be seen in any secondary school and emphasises why the ADT Faculty has some of the highest performing subject courses in the country.

Our culture of creativity can also be seen in the Performing Arts Faculty where final preparation is underway for the Summer Show. This years show, Alice in Wonderland, is particularly special because it is the sum total of the students’ work at Level 3 and provides the final assessments for the Year 13 Performing Arts students before they embark on Higher Education; many of them will be embarking on drama and dance degree courses.  Look out as well for the new Brookvale Groby Learning Campus Band.  This summer will see the inaugural show from our campus orchestra, established this year under the direction of our music teachers Tor Bridge and Laura White.

As well as all of this we have final Year 10 controlled assessments, the start of A2 courses for Year 12, A Level taster lessons for Year 11, Year 9 induction, Sports Day and Activity Day to build into these last few weeks. Thank you to everyone, students, staff, parents and carers, for their continued commitment to our college.
