Snow: Friday 30 January

Thank you to all parents and carers who were able to get their child into college on Friday. I know that some areas were badly effected and therefore buses and cars could not make it out of the villages or along the roads. Thank you to those parents and carers who let us know about the conditions and problems on the road; absence in these cases will be 'authorised'. If no reason has been given then absence will be coded as 'unauthorised'.

After a disrupted start to the day with staff delays due to gridlocked roads we were up and running by 10am. Most lessons continued as normal although some staff altered their plans dependent on numbers.

It is difficult to decision to know what to do when the weather becomes difficult but it will always be our aim to get the campus running as normal. The site teams at both schools worked tirelessly from before 6am to ensure that driveway and paths were clear and safe.

As a Principal I must always put safety and educational continuity at the forefront of what I do and although some students did not make it into college on Friday, I hope that learning continued as normal as possible for those who could get in.
