Open Evening 3 October 2013 6pm

Transition from Year 9 to Year 10

I am delighted to invite parents / carers and students to our Open Evening held at the college on Thursday 3 October from 6.00pm. The Open Evening is the first stage of the transfer from Year 9 into Year 10 and gives you the opportunity to see the college in action.

As part of the evening you will be able to:

• Explore the college - either with a guide or at your own pace

• Talk to students and staff about life at the college, the broad range of courses on offer and experience some of the vast range of enrichment opportunities which take place throughout the year.

• Hear a presentation from the Principal at either 6.30 or 7.15pm in the Learning Resource Centre.

• Talk to staff about student wellbeing, Special Educational Needs, transport and other additional services provided by the college

Groby Community College welcomes all students currently in Year 9 for a place for September 2014 whether from in-catchment (Brookvale High School / South Charnwood High School) or from out of catchment. Please remember that if you are a student already at South Charnwood High School, you will have the choice from 2014 of staying at your High School or transferring to Groby Community College. Please speak to a member of the support team in reception for help and advice on transferring to the college.

We look forward to meeting you at our Open Evening and throughout the year as your child moves from Year 9 into Year 10.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss anything about moving to the college for September 2014.  Your key point of contact is our Student Services Manager - Mrs Debbie Lee (This email address is being protected from spambots.
