‘This is a GOOD school’ - Ofsted 2013
I am delighted to inform you that Groby Community College, which was inspected by Ofsted on 27-28 February 2013, is now deemed to be a ‘good’ school. We felt that the inspection was a real reflection of our vision ‘Achieving Excellence Together’ and the progress that the College has made since 2009 in our journey towards becoming truly outstanding.
The College would like to inform parents, carers and friends of the college that we are being inspected by Ofsted on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th February 2013.
A letter informing parents/carers has been sent home with students today and an email through Parentpay.

On the 12th December 2012, a group of year 13 English Literature students went on a day trip to a reconstruction of the original Globe theatre on London’s cultural South bank.
Year 12 Subject & Tutor afternoon/evening on Thursday 7th March 4.00pm - 7.00pm
The ski party will now return to college on Monday 18 February 2013 between 1 and 2pm. The delay getting into Boston due to weather meant that the party were unable to fly out to the USA until Sunday 10 February. The tour company have managed to extend the trip to enable the group to have the full 5 days skiing.

On the 12th November a group of post-16 physics students went to ‘Careers Fest 2012’, an event which was held at the National Space Centre. A variety of organisations involved in space sciences were represented, including Rolls-Royce, The Met Office, the RAF, and some universities were also present.
